Play based sessions for 0-5year olds
Playgroup is a fun, play based session for children aged 0-5 years. It provides parents with an opportunity to watch their child gain new skills, make friends, learn through play and interact with others in a fun and nurturing environment.
Weekly activities
Weekly activities include sight, sound, touch, taste, smell, imagination and interactive play. The activities are aimed at educating children in fine and gross motor skill development. Most of these things can be seen as just fun, however many of the tasks have been chosen for a reason from play-dough, pegging and lacing, drawing, painting, craft, puzzles, blocks and role-play. Outdoor play activities include an obstacle course, sandpit and play equipment.
Opening Times
Our session run during school term:
Fridays 9-10.30am at Glengarry Primary School
Each session is coordinated to ensure activities are planned, set out and ready to use.
Sessions also include a weekly mat time that involves children getting active and participating as a whole group, learning nursery rhymes, singing songs, dancing and listening to stories.
School readiness
Many of our children go on to school at Glengarry Primary School assisting with separation anxiety by being at a familiar location and moving on with their friends.
What age children can attend?
Children aged 0 - 5 are welcome to attend, they do not need to be registered with the school.
What to bring?
We ask that each family brings morning tea and water bottle for their child. Coffee and Tea for adults is supplied.
Pricing
Payment is pay-as-you-go at $90 per term.
