ABOUT US

Zig Zags Outside School Hours Care (Zig Zags OSHC) was founded in 2011. The vision for Zig Zags OSHC is “to be a fun place for children to grow”.

Lorraine Ablett

Owner and Director

Lorraine Ablett owner operator and Director of Zig Zags OSHC experience is far reaching from managing companies in highly regulated industries, to successfully obtaining accreditation and private licensing, working with policies and procedures through to ensuring the right skill mix to staff ratios.

Emma Parks

Assistant Manager

Emma’s commitment is to ensure all children have access to Quality Educational Programs. Emma is a firm believer in the rights of the child are to be embedded into everyday practices and the code of ethics is paramount to all practises. Emma believes all children have the right to be in a safe, stimulating and learning environment.

Sarra Safi

Educational Leader

I have been working in the OSHC industry for 8 years and I'm currently studying towards my Bachelor in Health Science, Majoring in Nutrition. I take pride in healthy eating and enjoy making these choices with the children at Zig Zags OSHC. I follow the Reggio Emilia philosophy and bring these principles into the programmes.

Megan Varker

Office Manager

A marketing and operations professional with experience in; medical marketing, operations and project leadership roles. Megan is skilled in managing resources and ensuring assignments are completed on-time/on-budget; from business transitions to staffing efficiencies.

Known as being creative, self-starting, dedicated and intuitive.

I believe all children deserve the right to learn and play in a safe and welcoming environment. I believe that all children have unique interests, strengths and abilities, that when fostered enables them to grow. I believe children regardless of their abilities. I believe building secure, respectful relationships with children and their families is crucial to create a sense of belonging in our service.

As a former PE teacher in high school I'm very passionate about sports as I believe it teaches them motor skills but also communication skills and helps them dealing with wins and losses.

I like to provide an atmosphere were children can be themselves; learn at their own pace, relax and have fun at the same time.

I have been working in the OSHC industry for over 9 years in management roles, I believe that every child learns in their own individual way and at Zigzags we have a job to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, have fun and feel safe.

I believe children are naturally avid learners and as such I aim at giving them the opportunity to expand their learning through play and experiences that are tailored to their developmental needs and likes, all within a safe environment. I endeavour to offer programs that incorporate environmental awareness, healthy living and knowledge of other cultures.

I am passionate about building strong trusting relationships with each individual child and to work closely with families. I am dedicated and committed in providing an environment that is safe, happy, nurturing and inclusive for all children.

Emily

Marangaroo

I have experience working in childcare, OSHC as well as community services. My experience includes working with children from babies to 17 years olds with medical and genetic disorders, autism spectrum disorder and children involved with child protection services.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Psychology and am passionate about supporting children to develop positive social interaction and emotional self regulation skills using positive behaviour guidance strategies.

I’m Fee. I come from a teaching background and feel very passionate about providing children with a safe and nurturing environment where they feel inspired to develop their creativity and interact with others in a positive and considerate manner.
